REMINISCENSING is very good, but that's just YESTERDAY, ACTION is the key, for that's what obtains at the moment. If you can't add value to your World now, but you're waiting for TOMORROW, you're telling your creator, he is deficient in Mathematics, he was to send you to the World tomorrow. If you want to resolve the PAst before meeting today's needs, you are telling your creator, HE IS A NIGERIAN POLITICIAN, He has just wasted the resources of success he provided for you today.

Where is your New Year Resolution? where is your New Year Vision? Either Find them or Find another one. YOU CAN STILL MAKE SOMETHING OUT OF IT. See the world, see the universe, the animals, it took just 7 days to create them all. Charles Spurgeon Today!

October 30

Morning
“I will praise thee, O Lord.”
- Psa_9:1
Praise should always follow answered prayer; as the mist of earth’s gratitude rises when the sun of heaven’s love warms the ground. Hath the Lord been gracious to thee, and inclined his ear to the voice of thy supplication? Then praise him as long as thou livest. Let the ripe fruit drop upon the fertile soil from which it drew its life. Deny not a song to him who hath answered thy prayer and given thee the desire of thy heart. To be silent over God’s mercies is to incur the guilt of ingratitude; it is to act as basely as the nine lepers, who after they had been cured of their leprosy, returned not to give thanks unto the healing Lord. To forget to praise God is to refuse to benefit ourselves; for praise, like prayer, is one great means of promoting the growth of the spiritual life. It helps to remove our burdens, to excite our hope, to increase our faith. It is a healthful and invigorating exercise which quickens the pulse of the believer, and nerves him for fresh enterprises in his Master’s service. To bless God for mercies received is also the way to benefit our fellow-men; “the humble shall hear thereof and be glad.” Others who have been in like circumstances shall take comfort if we can say, “Oh! magnify the Lord with me, and let us exalt his name together; this poor man cried, and the Lord heard him.” Weak hearts will be strengthened, and drooping saints will be revived as they listen to our “songs of deliverance.” Their doubts and fears will be rebuked, as we teach and admonish one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs. They too shall “sing in the ways of the Lord,” when they hear us magnify his holy name. Praise is the most heavenly of Christian duties. The angels pray not, but they cease not to praise both day and night; and the redeemed, clothed in white robes, with palm-branches in their hands, are never weary of singing the new song, “Worthy is the Lamb.”

Evening
“Thou that dwellest in the gardens, the companions hearken to thy voice: cause me to hear it.”
- Son_8:13
My sweet Lord Jesus remembers well the garden of Gethsemane, and although he has left that garden, he now dwells in the garden of his church: there he unbosoms himself to those who keep his blessed company. That voice of love with which he speaks to his beloved is more musical than the harps of heaven. There is a depth of melodious love within it which leaves all human music far behind. Ten of thousands on earth, and millions above, are indulged with its harmonious accents. Some whom I well know, and whom I greatly envy, are at this moment hearkening to the beloved voice. O that I were a partaker of their joys! It is true some of these are poor, others bedridden, and some near the gates of death, but O my Lord, I would cheerfully starve with them, pine with them, or die with them, if I might but hear thy voice. Once I did hear it often, but I have grieved thy Spirit. Return unto me in compassion, and once again say unto me, “I am thy salvation.” No other voice can content me; I know thy voice, and cannot be deceived by another, let me hear it, I pray thee. I know not what thou wilt say, neither do I make any condition, O my Beloved, do but let me hear thee speak, and if it be a rebuke I will bless thee for it. Perhaps to cleanse my dull ear may need an operation very grievous to the flesh, but let it cost what it may I turn not from the one consuming desire, cause me to hear thy voice. Bore my ear afresh; pierce my ear with thy harshest notes, only do not permit me to continue deaf to thy calls. To-night, Lord, grant thine unworthy one his desire, for I am thine, and thou hast bought me with thy blood. Thou hast opened mine eye to see thee, and the sight has saved me. Lord, open thou mine ear. I have read thy heart, now let me hear thy lips.

Charles Spurgeon For TODAY!

October 19

Morning
“Babes in Christ.”
- 1Co_3:1
Are you mourning, believer, because you are so weak in the divine life: because your faith is so little, your love so feeble? Cheer up, for you have cause for gratitude. Remember that in some things you are equal to the greatest and most full-grown Christian. You are as much bought with blood as he is. You are as much an adopted child of God as any other believer. An infant is as truly a child of its parents as is the full-grown man. You are as completely justified, for your justification is not a thing of degrees: your little faith has made you clean every whit. You have as much right to the precious things of the covenant as the most advanced believers, for your right to covenant mercies lies not in your growth, but in the covenant itself; and your faith in Jesus is not the measure, but the token of your inheritance in him. You are as rich as the richest, if not in enjoyment, yet in real possession. The smallest star that gleams is set in heaven; the faintest ray of light has affinity with the great orb of day. In the family register of glory the small and the great are written with the same pen. You are as dear to your Father’s heart as the greatest in the family. Jesus is very tender over you. You are like the smoking flax; a rougher spirit would say, “put out that smoking flax, it fills the room with an offensive odour!” but the smoking flax he will not quench. You are like a bruised reed; and any less tender hand than that of the Chief Musician would tread upon you or throw you away, but he will never break the bruised reed. Instead of being downcast by reason of what you are, you should triumph in Christ. Am I but little in Israel? Yet in Christ I am made to sit in heavenly places. Am I poor in faith? Still in Jesus I am heir of all things. Though “less than nothing I can boast, and vanity confess.” yet, if the root of the matter be in me I will rejoice in the Lord, and glory in the God of my salvation.

Evening
“God, my maker, who giveth songs in the night.”
- Job_35:10
Any man can sing in the day. When the cup is full, man draws inspiration from it. When wealth rolls in abundance around him, any man can praise the God who gives a plenteous harvest or sends home a loaded argosy. It is easy enough for an Aeolian harp to whisper music when the winds blow-the difficulty is for music to swell forth when no wind is stirring. It is easy to sing when we can read the notes by daylight; but he is skilful who sings when there is not a ray of light to read by-who sings from his heart. No man can make a song in the night of himself; he may attempt it, but he will find that a song in the night must be divinely inspired. Let all things go well, I can weave songs, fashioning them wherever I go out of the flowers that grow upon my path; but put me in a desert, where no green thing grows, and wherewith shall I frame a hymn of praise to God? How shall a mortal man make a crown for the Lord where no jewels are? Let but this voice be clear, and this body full of health, and I can sing God’s praise: silence my tongue, lay me upon the bed of languishing, and how shall I then chant God’s high praises, unless he himself give me the song? No, it is not in man’s power to sing when all is adverse, unless an altar-coal shall touch his lip. It was a divine song, which Habakkuk sang, when in the night he said, “Although the fig-tree shall not blossom, neither shall fruit be in the vines; the labour of the olive shall fail, and the fields shall yield no meat; the flock shall be cut off from the fold, and there shall be no herd in the stalls: yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation.” Then, since our Maker gives songs in the night, let us wait upon him for the music. O thou chief musician, let us not remain songless because affliction is upon us, but tune thou our lips to the melody of thanksgiving.

Kindly make your comments and spiritual digestions here....

Charles Spurgeon Lives on...

Morning
“Thy paths drop fatness.”
- Psa_65:11
Many are “the paths of the Lord” which “drop fatness,” but an especial one is the path of prayer. No believer, who is much in the closet, will have need to cry, “My leanness, my leanness; woe unto me.” Starving souls live at a distance from the mercy- seat, and become like the parched fields in times of drought. Prevalence with God in wrestling prayer is sure to make the believer strong-if not happy. The nearest place to the gate of heaven is the throne of the heavenly grace. Much alone, and you will have much assurance; little alone with Jesus, your religion will be shallow, polluted with many doubts and fears, and not sparkling with the joy of the Lord. Since the soul-enriching path of prayer is open to the very weakest saint; since no high attainments are required; since you are not bidden to come because you are an advanced saint, but freely invited if you be a saint at all; see to it, dear reader, that you are often in the way of private devotion. Be much on your knees, for so Elijah drew the rain upon famished Israel’s fields.
There is another especial path dropping with fatness to those who walk therein, it is the secret walk of communion. Oh! the delights of fellowship with Jesus! Earth hath no words which can set forth the holy calm of a soul leaning on Jesus’ bosom. Few Christians understand it, they live in the lowlands and seldom climb to the top of Nebo: they live in the outer court, they enter not the holy place, they take not up the privilege of priesthood. At a distance they see the sacrifice, but they sit not down with the priest to eat thereof, and to enjoy the fat of the burnt offering. But, reader, sit thou ever under the shadow of Jesus; come up to that palm tree, and take hold of the branches thereof; let thy beloved be unto thee as the apple-tree among the trees of the wood, and thou shalt be satisfied as with marrow and fatness. O Jesus, visit us with thy salvation!

Evening
“Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice.”
- 1Sa_15:22
Paul had been commanded to slay utterly all the Amalekites and their cattle. Instead of doing so, he preserved the king, and suffered his people to take the best of the oxen and of the sheep. When called to account for this, he declared that he did it with a view of offering sacrifice to God; but Samuel met him at once with the assurance that sacrifices were no excuse for an act of direct rebellion. The sentence before us is worthy to be printed in letters of gold, and to be hung up before the eyes of the present idolatrous generation, who are very fond of the fineries of will-worship, but utterly neglect the laws of God. Be it ever in your remembrance, that to keep strictly in the path of your Saviour’s command is better than any outward form of religion; and to hearken to his precept with an attentive ear is better than to bring the fat of rams, or any other precious thing to lay upon his altar. If you are failing to keep the least of Christ’s commands to his disciples, I pray you be disobedient no longer. All the pretensions you make of attachment to your Master, and all the devout actions which you may perform, are no recompense for disobedience. “To obey,” even in the slightest and smallest thing, “is better than sacrifice,” however pompous. Talk not of Gregorian chants, sumptuous robes, incense, and banners; the first thing which God requires of his child is obedience; and though you should give your body to be burned, and all your goods to feed the poor, yet if you do not hearken to the Lord’s precepts, all your formalities shall profit you nothing. It is a blessed thing to be teachable as a little child, but it is a much more blessed thing when one has been taught the lesson, to carry it out to the letter. How many adorn their temples and decorate their priests, but refuse to obey the word of the Lord! My soul, come not thou into their secret.

A moment with Alfa Sule "O ti ganpa".

Joshua Peters is a 100-L Dramatic Arts Student. He starred as Bayo in the Alfa Sule blockbuster “take heed”. He shares his stardom experience as well as the troupe’s most challenging time.
Can we know about you?
I’m the son of a single parent and probably the husband (laughs). I had my primary and secondary education in Ibadan.
When did your acting career start?
It started when I was two years old, it’s just this type of role that you will be requested to go up and say your mom is not around. Though I can’t recollect when, but I was told that while I was growing,  I acted with the elders in church. Let’s say I rededicated myself to it in year 2000.
So, we correctly say that your acting career is close to 12 years?
Okay! If you say so
What’s been your driving force?
My driving force is purely evangelism. You see I’m not disputing the fact that preaching and sermons are effective but I have come to realize that drama is the best evangelism tool that we have not utilized. Were you to ask someone the topic of the message the pastor preached last week, he might probably not remember but ask him the title of the movie he watched of 5 years ago, he will correctly recollect. I think what people see when we act sticks longer. Even acting preaches what the Pastor says but in a way more practical.
How did you join Alfa Sule?
What actually happened was that I was already in a church drama group before I joined Alfa Sule in 2005. I was already acting on stage and I cannot stop now that the lord has helped the glory to burst forth, there are still a lot of invitations from churches to present dramas. We still do much of stage drama and I do directing alone, probably if I just can be jack of all trade.
Do you encounter challenges along the line?
There are really no challenges. God is by our side because we believe that in him, every mountain is made low but at times you might just get to a place that is filled with such a crowd and you are like waoh! But I don’t get scared anyway. There have been no challenges except maybe the time some other faith adherents terrorized us.  Though at that time, everybody was afraid but I don’t really see them as a challenge.
You said you were terrorized? Is it because of the name Alfa Sule?
Yea! Something like that but that’s all I can divulge.
What’s ‘Alfa Sule’ up to now?
Actually, people mistake the name for one person but it is actually a troupe. The original name is Christ Chosen Vessels Drama Ministry but it was our fans who nicknamed it “Alfa Sule” because they felt the original name was too long. So it is everybody in the group that is actually referred to as “Alfa Sule”. We are up to a lot of things, because we have a bright future. Where we are going cannot be spoken. I am telling you the fact. God has planned on taking us throughout the whole world. I believe that through “Alfa sule”, places that are ignorant of Christ and Christianity will get to know him. There are places that I have not been to but they will call you to tell you, we have watched your CD. Gradually gradually as it spreads we believe God that the Kingdom of Hell will be depopulated and the Kingdom of Heaven will increase.
What’s your say on the secularization of your slogan “O ti gan Pa”?
Personally, I think it happens because God is with us and two, the uniqueness. Anything God does, people rebrand to copy it, it is grace and it yields fruits to the kingdom. Even Jesus had a lot of people who wanted to copy him. It’s just an evidence of the hand of God.
Is it true that the troupe was taken to court of the name ‘Alfa Sule”?
That’s a huge question. God helped us in settling everything.
Were you scared at being sued?
Yes! We were o! the threat was much. Our accusers had enforcement from Lagos but the challenge was based mainly in Ibadan. It was too much that that my Oga was scared of going out but God just spoke. He is said he is the master planner of our destiny so there is no one that can truncate it no matter how much they try. And we had a peace of mind.
Did you have support from people of your faith?
Oh! We had a lot, a lot of people supported us in prayers, morals and even in person. In fact, not only people of my faith but those of other faith who believed in our ministry and the vision of God which was given unto us. They supported us, they made us understand that there is nothing God cannot do, that if God be for us, who can be against us?
Did you choose to act as ‘bayo’ in ‘take heed’?
First, ‘take heed’ was actually our first production, and I did not choose my role o! no one chooses role, our director will put you in a role. And it was not because of my height. Even if we were to talk about height then I shouldn’t be doing a role like that. ‘Bayo’ was a kid, a school boy and let look at how tall I am. So I saw it as a challenge in terms of fitting into the role. I testify that it was the Holy-Spirit that helped me to fit in. Our fans tend to think it’s because of the height and probably the running skill that I was given that role, but no! that’s was not the case at first, I was not even the original ‘bayo’.
What scene did you like in ‘take heed’?
It was the ‘woli agba’ scene, that scene was da bomb. Many of the things we did on set while recording ‘take heed’, our director - Femi Ajewole will be like ahn ahn, where do you get this idea from? That was how God worked with us. For example the idea of the ‘woli agba’ putting his legs of the table. Should you take a critical look, that’s what’s happening. Another one was the “Oya rerin” scene of the professor and the “je eli kai”.
Was that your first time on set?
Yes! It was, “take heed” was my first time on set officially.
What is the relationship between Christ Chosen Vessels Drama Ministry and Mount Zion Films Ministry?
Mount Zion is the recognized founder of drama ministry, like the father of drama ministry and the Lord has helped us to become the father of dance drama ministry. Our relationship is like a friend relationship. They call us, invite us for their programs, encourage us, advise us. Practically the relationship is just father-son relationship.
How do you cope with stardom?
God has been helping especially in school. Here (talking of OAU) at times I get to run. At times, I look like one with hunchback (laughs) because I have to bend while walking to avoid recognition. Yet some people still recognize me, they’ll be like, “he’s the one”. You know it is normal.
Can you share one of those moments?
One happened in Amphi-theatre. It was very funny, imagine how big Amphi is? A lady walked round it twice just to confirm if I was ‘bayo’. And when she confirmed, she confronted me like, “ehn! It is you, No! don’t worry, we have LALA here, we have Samuel Ajirebi, so don’t worry. I couldn’t help laughing. Another very funny one happened in Akure. We went to their teaching hospital, a very very big place. I  I alighted from the bike but the bike man did not have balance. So I went to a shop nearby to get change. Between the time I was gone and back, the whole place was already crowded, news of our presence had spread around like wild fire. That’s was very funny because it was surprising.

SO THEY SINNED….

SO THEY SINNED….
Dear readers, how was your week? Hope it was splendid? Welcome to a new week and God bless!
He used to be fire brand for a God, always here and there doing the work of God until he was promoted religiously and physically. He became too big to do the works he used to do because he believed it was too menial for his religious status and he also became too busy to even have time for God. The above scenario is no longer new in the church nowadays because when many Christians become popular, well known and positioned, they tend to forget the God who put them there in the first instance.
Hosea 4:7 says that, “As they were increased, so they sinned against me: therefore will I change their glory into shame”. The Lord said this about the Israelites who lacked the knowledge to actually decipher that without God, they are nothing. As a young Christian on campus, many a times, we allow other activities to take us away from God and we claim to be too busy because of the other secular organizations we are heading. We appear to have forgotten that it is God who gave us the breath that even enables us to be busy because definitely, a dead person cannot be busy!
The book of Psalm 127:1 reiterates the fact that its only God that can bring certain things our way because if he doesn’t give it unto us, there are no way we can get them! We should all be careful and not because of a little promotion sin against God because if He gets angry, He can change that glory to shame. As you go forth this week, always keep in mind that no one can receive anything except by God. Have a lovely week, Shalom!
