10:23) “…Some trust in chariots, and some in horses: BUT WE WILL REMEMBER THE NAME OF THE LORD OUR GOD…” Psalm
20:7
There are many ways a believer can be exceedingly
frustrated but the two major ways that really frustrate folks are: Refusing to
be led by the Spirit of God and not walking by faith. Now, I want to major on Faith
that profits you. Beloved, faith MUST
be towards God before it can be productive. You see, when you direct your faith
towards things and men, you are bound to be frustrated. Faith must be towards
God. There are folks who believe in their Parents, Cousins and U.S based Uncles
for financial help in times of need. They do go for church meetings but their
faith is towards men. God said to my most revered Mentor, Bishop David Olaniyi
Oyedepo, some years ago. Hear what the LORD told him! “…My son, you have two
eyes; can you make one to look up and one to look down? And my Mentor tried it
but he failed, then God said to him ‘Anytime you are looking unto men, never
claim to be looking unto Me for My Word says; “…THEY LOOKED UNTO HIM (ME), AND WERE LIGHTENED: AND THEIR FACES WERE
NOT ASHAMED…” (Psalm 34:5) That was how my Mentor was recovered from
looking unto men to looking unto God for all-round Supplies
The reasons many good Christian people enter into
some avoidable problems was because there was no absolute faith towards God. I
am fond of saying to Campus Pastors and leaders that the faith they claim to
have is “GUIDED FAITH.” What
I mean by that is simple. They direct faith to Mum and Dad for their needs
whatever it may be; they don’t direct their faith to God. Beloved! There is
glory in faith towards God and there is shame, frustration and lack in faith
towards men! If you are a Word-addict, your faith will shoot high like a babul
tree in North Africa and South Asia. This tree always withstands the test of TIME! Sometimes, when you see a
believer who says I am believing God for so and so but deeply and really, he is
believing men for that so and so. FAITH TOWARDS GOD WORKS!
“...Therefore
leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection;
not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, AND OF FAITH TOWARD GOD…”
(Hebrew 6:1) Brethren, as you may have observed our educational system in
Nigeria, many of the things we learn in the university are grossly irrelevant
to our future. True knowledge and learning birth ACTION! After 4 or 5 years of inglorious waste of time in
the Nigeria University, you now have to sit down to really learn “HOW LIFE WORKS” and your desires
for greatness in the future. You MUST
need to unlearn what you have learnt in the university and really sit down to
learn from God – the Maker of ALL. After 3 years of laborious search for a job
and there seems to be none; many resort to come back for a Master degree so as
to give “degrees to their lives.” I have said often and often that having a
Master degree (M.s.c) in a noble university does not make you a Master of/in
life. Brethren, the true meaning of M.s.c is not Master of science but Master
of situations and circumstances. That’s all you will ever need and only the
LORD JESUS is a Master of situations and circumstances. So, GO TO JESUS FOR REAL HELP AND
HE WILL HELP YOU!
“…TRUST IN THE LORD WITH ALL THINE HEART;
and lean not unto thine own understanding. IN
ALL THY WAYS ACKNOWLEDGE HIM, and he shall direct thy paths…” (Prov
3:5-6). Men and brethren, you will forever need to direct your faith towards
God and not towards your Business or Foreign UNESCO aid. A true believer is an
icon of faith towards God and not to Things. There are needs in life whether
you are Doctor or a Preacher, just don’t direct your faith towards men but ONLY believe in God to help you when
the challenges of life come to you. I pray for you that YOUR FAITH WILL
NOT FAIL!
